Jungeun Kim was born in Korea and earned both a BFA in Graphic Design and MFA in Printmaking from Hongik University in Seoul. Her creative work draws deeply from the interplay between the human experience, nature, and the formative memories of her childhood.

Her artistic philosophy is grounded in self-exploration, using materials that carry deep personal significance. Inspired by the tactile experiences of her youth-playing with sand and mud from the ocean and their textures against her fingers-Jungeun incorporates these natural elements into her work. These materials are more than mere tools; they serve as gateway to cherished moments of simplicity and innocence. Through these sensory media, she captures the joy and curiosity of her early years, inviting viewers to reconnect with their own pasts and rediscover the wonder of childhood. Her art becomes a shared experience, a mirror reflecting the universal longing for purity and serenity.

Central to Jungeun's artistic philosophy is the belief that humanity and nature are intrinsically intertwined. She sees humans not as separate from the natural world, but as a vital, interconnected part of it. Her work emphasizes the delicate balance and mutual dependence that underpin life, Offering a gentle yet powerful reminder of the harmony that binds us all.

Through her thoughtful and evocative creations, Jungeun seeks to inspire reflection, provoke dialogue, and cultivate a deeper awareness of our shared existence within the grand tapestry of life. By examining the fundamental principles of being, her art encourages viewers to ponder their place in the world and their relationship with nature.

Artist's Statement

My work involves the creation of Oriental philosophical theory that has intellectually accepted nature as experienced in life and development of nature as a process to understand the universal principle. The concepts that form this theory have inspired me to express my maturity through my artwork
