Erica Kim is a sculptor and designer known for her whimsical yet thought-provoking creations that blend playfulness with deeper emotional undertones. A graduate of Parsons School of Design (1999), Kim has showcased her work in over sixteen solo and group exhibitions and has contributed to numerous public and private collections across the U.S. and South Korea. She currently serves as the 16th Director of Sculpture at the Korean New York Artists Association and actively participates as a juror for major international art competitions.
Her sculpture Lazee features a smiling pearl nestled within an exaggerated clam shell, radiating a sense of innocence, humor, and subtle irony. The piece invites viewers to reflect on themes of rest, self-containment, and joy, making it especially resonant in hospital and healing environments.
에리카 김현경은 유쾌함과 깊이 있는 감정이 어우러진 조각 및 디자인 작업으로 주목받는 작가입니다. 그녀의 작품은 장난기 어린 형상 속에 감성을 담아내며, 보는 이로 하여금 웃음과 함께 사유를 이끌어냅니다. 1999년 파슨스 디자인 스쿨을 졸업한 이후, 그녀는 미국과 한국을 중심으로 16회 이상의 개인전 및 단체전에 참여했으며, 서울 아산 병원, 해금강 박물관 및 미국 뉴저지 세인트 조셉 어린이 병원 등 수많은 공공 및 개인 소장처에 작품이 소장되어 있습니다. 현재는 뉴욕한인미술협회 제16대 조각분과위원장으로 활동 중이며, 국제 미술 공모전의 심사위원으로도 활발히 활동하고 있습니다. 2021년에는 거제 큐레이터상을 수상하였습니다.
